This method is very creative and useful to student. I think it is a footstep to get close to student personally.
However, My idea is kind of different. As our lecture is not a one-way lecture, I think we already do this in some perspective. Thus, I suggest Professors upload the materials or themes of the lecture of the day at least two day before, and let the student know. Then, students should prepare the class and do the conversation each other.
It is just my thought.. so you might just look at it.
